This week's news

New choir!
On Sunday 26th October, our morning Mass was made 50 times brighter as we all enjoyed a new choir who lead us through Mass.
The sound the choir made was glorious and inspiring and had been brought together by a few members of the Legion of Mary; together with the help of Bella - our parish choir coordinator, Veronica - one of our parish organists, and the African choir of St Patrick’s Catholic Church.
After 2 sessions of rehearsals each week, for almost 6 weeks, the dream to have an African choir at St Augustine’s Church has become a reality.
Odion said, he’s thankful for the encouragement, support and approval given by Fr Barnabas. And also for the kind comments and words of appreciation, from parishioners who attended the Mass.
We hope to hear more from our new African choir at the forthcoming Christmas carol service and future Masses too!

Only 5 days to go!
There will be so much to eat, drink, see and do on Saturday at our annual Community "Countdown to Christmas" fundraiser.
We thank all the groups who get involved at this event - The hardworking PTFA who run the massive Bottle stall, our amazing Hong Kong Community who are running games and sales tables, The Not So Young Club & Community Cafe team who help with the entrance, lunches and Cake stall, the brilliant Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who take care of the huge Tombola, the Parish Pastoral Council/Prayer Group who are holding a Church shop with lots of Christmas items and the fabulous Pre-school who have got in touch with the big guy in red for another amazing Santa's Grotto! We also thank the many parish volunteers who have stepped up to help run all the other stalls on the day. Plus, Sav's Super Whippy - Bristol’s Best Ice Cream truck will be on hand for some delicious treats!
See you there!

Bereavement Support
For those who may be affected by bereavement, St Augustine's holds a monthly, informal, friendship & support group.
The group will next meet on Monday 17th November at 2pm in the Parish Hall, for tea, cake & a chat.
All are welcome to come along.
