With a retiring collection for our local Parish project, JDRF, and refreshments in the hall afterwards (including the Prize Draw announcements!)  everyone is very welcome to this festive afternoon.

Gift Sunday 2017

A heartfelt thank you to our ever generous community for once again donating a fantastic amount of Christmas presents for under-privileged children in Bristol, which will be distributed by the Catholic Children's Society (CCS) and also many bags of gifts which will be handed out to the people we meet during our Soup Run night over Christmas.
One this 1st Sunday of Advent it was a beautiful reminder of the kindness and caring nature of our parishioners.
The ladies from C.C.S. were overwhelmed with the generosity shown by our Church when they arrived to collect the gifts on Monday.... they filled an estate car and a very large boot to the brim! Amazing!
Thank you all

What a fantastic day!

On Saturday 18th November it was another fantastic Community event at St Augustine's for the "Countdown to Christmas" Bazaar. With approx 375 visitors to our event all shopping, eating, drinking, trying their luck, decorating biscuits, having their face painted, spotting the Christmas trail, making Christmas Wishes and then telling them to Santa, it was a Wonderful Day!
Thank you to the community who came out and supported the event and to all the hardworking helpers and stallholders! Merry Christmas to you all!

Remembrance Sunday 2017

On Sunday 12th November the Church fell silent for 1 minute at the start of our Remembrance Sunday Mass.
The Uniformed Organisations and a large crowd of Parishioners came out to commemorate Armistice Day with a flag ceremony in the grounds after Mass. Parishioners were then able to lay their poppies in the little garden.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Farewell to our Housekeeper!

Thank you to all who came along to wish a SURPRISE farewell to Sue Mulrenan who, after 4 years of looking after Fr Frank and keeping the place spotlessly clean, is off to pursue her dream of working with the ambulance service.

The Parish helped create a diversion and surprise for Sue who was shocked to see the hall turned into a party in her honour!

She entered the room (with kitchen roll in hand as we had told her that there had been a spillage of milk on the new hall carpet!) to cheers from the parishioners.

Her cake said it all.. Goodbye, Thank you and Good Luck!

Archbishop Moses Celebrations

On Thursday 29th June Archbishop Moses Costa, a friend of the Parish, received his symbol of office from Pope Francis at the Vatican.
We celebrated a Mass for Archbishop Moses' intention and prayed for all the newly appointed Archbishops.
After Mass we toasted his heath with a cuppa and a slice of cake - which depicted the 'pallium' that he was given by Pope Francis that day.
Congratulation to our dear friend Moses on this wonderful day.
